I made a Hiking Journal!

Hello! I’d like to share my latest passion project with you all! I have been working on making a hiking journal!
The reason why I went through the trouble of creating this journal was because I didn’t have a system of recording my outdoor adventures in a place where I could find them easily.
Ever since starting my geology degree back in 2010, I’ve discovered how cool the earth is and made a personal promise to myself to always seek out earth’s natural wonders.

This has lead me on so many hiking adventures from the Rocky Mountains to as far as the Himalayas! All these adventures and lessons learned from them are so precious to me! I didn’t want to forget them. I tried to document them in generic notebooks and journals, but I found my hiking entries would often get lost among the other non-adventure entries (such as to do lists, mundane life stuff, etc.) Because of this it was difficult to find my old hiking entries.
So I thought...why don’t I have a dedicated journal where I only log my hiking adventures. When I looked for a hiking journal to buy I noticed there wasn’t really anything that suited me. Some were highly focused on the stats parts of the trail (such as how high, far and fast did one hike) and there was a lack of space to write introspectively. While, some journals would only offer blank pages, which is good in theory but I also wanted some prompts on what I should write down to help me get over the mental load of “what should I write on this daunting blank page”. Additionally, I think 90% of the time life gets busy and I don’t have an opportunity to document my hike until weeks, if not months has passed. I need something such as writing prompts to jog my memory about the experience.
I couldn’t find what I was looking for!
So for the last 1.5 years, I set my mind to designing my own hiking journal! I am happy to say that it is complete and I would love to share all the special features with you in my next blog post!
If you’d like to stay up to date on this creative endeavor, feel free to sign up for my email list at the bottom of the page to be notified on when my next blog post is published.
Until then - here is a little sneak preview of the journal:

Am I the only one with this problem? Let me know in the comments!
